Born May 6, 1951 in Amarillo, Texas. Moved to Denton in 1971 and completed Bachelor & Master degrees at North Texas State University, now known as University of North Texas. Began Real Estate career in 1979. Held license in Oklahoma and Texas. Married to Debbie Vanderlaan and have one son, Travis Vanderlaan.
